Download Free Statewide Data
For many years CGIA served as the primary distribution point for state government GIS data sets. Now, we are pleased to offer data-distribution through the NC OneMap program. More than a hundred themes of the most-requested statewide digital GIS data are available for free download through an FTP site at NC OneMap in an ESRI shapefile format. To request other formats, contact CGIA at dataq@its.nc.gov

Additional Data Distribution Options
Data resources provided through the NC OneMap program are delivered in common data formats and projections. CGIA can provide transformation and conversion services when client requirements call for unique projections or large quantities of data are involved. Contact dataq@its.nc.gov for detailed conversion services or request a quotation.

Viewing North Carolina Data
Everyone with an Internet browser can view and use numerous data sets through the NC OneMap viewer (no GIS software is necessary). The NC OneMap viewer combines local, state, and federal data from their servers, in real time, as you zoom-in to a selected geographic area. The NC OneMap viewer is just one feature of the NC OneMap program.

NC OneMap GIS Inventory
Trying to find creators of North Carolina data? The easy-to-use NC One Map GIS Data Inventory provides searchable status maps that reveal which local or state government agencies have produced a specific data set. Select from among 460 data themes to discover available data; then click the “I”dentify tool on the status map to retrieve more detailed information from the data producer. Another important feature of the NC One Map GIS Inventory is the searchable directory of registered data producers in North Carolina.

If you have North Carolina data to add to the inventory, please log-in and complete your Inventory entry. You do not need to register to use the status maps and directory functions.
